Blitz

This piece was a commission for a collector and close friend. It had been a long time since I had done any serious painting, with my design career occupying so much of my time, but the subject matter of this particular piece was too enticing not to tackle.

The dramatic lighting reveals a lot of form on this giant gorgeous Weimaraner. I attempted to highlight that form with a thicker paint application in the lights, while playing with abstraction and layering the shapes of color.
